Title I Schools (Make up session for all Title I schools) iPad for Teachers (Intermediate Level) FILLING

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity filling up

These sessions are intended for teachers that would are comfortable with the basic uses of the iPad in their classrooms. They are looking for next steps in the usage of applications, especially in a learning model with a class set of iPads for students.  It is recommended that teachers that have attended an “Entry Level” training wait a minimum of three weeks to attend a more advanced course such as this one, as knowledge of the concepts present in those sessions will be assumed for all attendees.  Please review the agenda on the sessions to see where your comfort level is at this time.  Keep in mind there are make-up and level advancement sessions scheduled in May.  Attendance in at least at one of these events is a prerequisite for receiving a class set of iPads at Title I schools in 4th and 5th grade, or specific middle school subjects.
  • Having a class set of iPads is different.  Learn about the differences in settings for Office 365 as a result, and see how the apps  or Word, Sway, PowerPoint, Excel, Forms, OneDrive, and Office Lens
  • Teachers can take control of their classroom by using Apple Classroom to put your students in collaborative groups and share documents. Monitor, mute, and AirPlay their screens. Navigate your entire class to a specific webpage, app, or even chapter in an iBook.
  • Learn how to use the Spark Suite (Video, Post, or Page) to create engaging, and even animated learning products that your students can even use to teach each other!
  • Review some iMovie features that utilize templates students can organize their thoughts and create amazing multimedia products for YouTube (via OneDrive) for classroom use.
  • Make any video a lesson with EdPuzzle and embed assessments, hints, and things to remember throughout the video.
  • Pose questions and get students’ video response with Flip Grid in a social media-like discussion board tool.  Highlight (and share) responses on the right track, and give meaningful advice to students that might still need it.
  • Explore blended instructional models like a flipped classroom with tools like NearPod and Padlet for sharing content, assignments, and student work.
  • Don’t forget to have some fun!  See how  some teachers use the Free Heads Up-like app Charades! Kids to create their own game for academic language or vocabulary development.
